OTTAWA — The Pittsburgh Penguins were frustrated by their inability to convert at a higher rate on the power play Saturday at Canadian Tire Centre. They didn’t like an offside challenge ruling that went against them. And understandably so. Perhaps if they would have shown up in the first two periods, those items wouldn’t have mattered. Playing against one of the NHL’s worst teams and entering the contest on something of a roll, the Penguins roared back for a point but ultimately fell in overtime to the Ottawa Senators 5-4 in their final game before the Christmas break.
