Mangaluru: The holiday season is here, and this year Vietnam, known for its ancient towns and Buddhist pagodas, has become the latest favourite destination for Mangalureans, according to travel and tourism stakeholders. Earlier Dubai, Thailand, Malyasia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Singapore were the most visited by Mangalureans. Another reason for Vietnam being a favoured destination is that it has flexibility in issuing visas for Indians. William D’Souza, managing director, Globe Travels, Mangaluru, said that Dubai is the most preferred international holiday destination for a majority of Mangalureans. It is followed by Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
