LAHORE: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced the closure of all bank branches in Lahore Division (including Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur), Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, and Narowal on Friday, November 10, 2023, due to the rising smog levels in Punjab. Here’s the official notification from SBP: This decision follows the Government of Punjab’s notification dated November 8, 2023, which declared a public holiday in these districts on Friday, November 10, 2023, to address the smog crisis. The central bank earlier said that it will also remain closed on Thursday, November 9, 2023, to commemorate Allama Iqbal Day, which is a national holiday in Pakistan.
