Schools shut in Pudhucherry today due to heavy rainfall

Puducherry [India], November 22 (ANI): Puducherry education minister A Namachivayam on Wednesday declared a holiday for all private and government schools due to heavy rains in the region. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued an ‘orange alert’ for extremely heavy rainfall in Puducherry, Karaikal, and Tamil Nadu, in the wake of which the education minister of Puducherry announced a holiday for the schools. The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in over 10 districts of Tamil Nadu for the next two days.
