Photos: Portland St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The annual Portland St. Patrick’s Day Parade once again delighted Northeast Portland as children, adults and even some four-legged friends marched down NE Hancock Street on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The yearly tradition is organized by Steve Slavik, who came up with the idea of the holiday parade back 1989. It starts — sharply — at 1 p.m. at Beverly Cleary Elementary School, with the usual participants like The Royal Rosarians, The Beat Goes On Marching Band, the Irish Wolfhound Club of the Willamette Valley among the many marching the route, surrounded by green-clad neighbors from Northeast.
