CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday announced a holiday for schools and colleges in Chennai district on Thursday. The government had declared holidays for the educational institutions in Chennai and neighbouring districts since December 4 in the wake of cyclone Michaung. “Since relief work is being carried out in some areas affected by the cyclonic storm, the Tamil Nadu government has announced a holiday for all schools and colleges in Chennai district tomorrow for the welfare of the students,” said an official release.
