No holiday, DKS says don’t need lectures from BJP | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU : Despite mounting pressure from the opposition BJP, the state government decided not to declare a holiday on Monday (Jan 22) for the consecration of the idol at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It also did not declare a dry day, unlike several states which have banned sale of liquor. Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday clarified: “We will not declare a holiday. I will inaugurate a newly built Sri Ram temple in Mahadevapura constituency [in Bengaluru]. They have invited me, and I plan to go.
