Nagpur: For the past two months, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) administration seems in a tearing hurry to push as many tenders as they could before the model code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections came into force. In 16 days of March, NMC floated around 140 tenders for development works, confirmed a senior NMC official privy to the development. On Saturday (March 16), just before the code of conduct was announced for general elections, the civic body performed the ground-breaking ceremony of a new Town Hall at Gandhibagh zone in Mahal, which was being considered as a major work for the civic body.
