Mild Rebound Anticipated For China Stock Market

BEIJING (dpa-AFX) – The China stock market headed south again on Friday, one session after ending the two-day slide in which it had declined almost 25 points or 0.8 percent. The Shanghai Composite Index now sits just above the 3,040-point plateau although it may tick higher again on Monday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is cautiously optimistic on positive momentum regarding the outlook for interest rates. The European markets were up and the U.S. bourses were mixed and little changed and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.
