Markham’s Helping Hands food bank drive teams up with 3 Chinese supermarkets

Markham’s Helping Hands 2023 food bank drive Dec. 9 and 10 teamed up with a number of local groups and retailers to make the holiday season a time of hope, generosity and communal spirit. Regional Coun. Alan Ho, who spearheaded the event, said that participating in the drive goes beyond an act of kindness. “It represents a tangible expression of the compassion that defines Markham,” said Ho, who took the lead by personally purchasing approximately $400 worth of nonperishable, unopened food items and placing them in the donation box.
