Law students file PIL in HC over state declaring public holiday on Jan 22

Mumbai: Four law students filed a PIL with the Bombay High Court on Saturday, challenging the Maharashtra government’s decision to declare a public holiday on January 22 to commemorate the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The petitioners filed an application with the High Court requesting that a special bench hear their case on Sunday. The plea would most likely be heard by a bench of Justice Girish S Kulkarni and Justice Neela K Gokhale.
