Florida officer injured during shooting Thursday: police

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Fort Lauderdale police officer was injured during a shooting Thursday morning, according to NBC affiliate WTVJ. At 7:39 a.m., Fort Lauderdale police said they responded to a caller saying they had killed someone inside a hotel room at a Holiday Inn Express. After attempting to contact the caller over the phone, officers responded to the room and attempted to make contact again, the department said. Failing to make contact again, officers tried to force their way into the room and gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and three officers.
