Dharwad: Holi, the festival of colours, was celebrated with fervour in Dharwad on Tuesday with cheer, splashing of colours and dancing to the beats of music and traditional instruments marking the celebrations. Cutting across age and gender barriers, people came out of their houses and participated in the celebrations. Festivities started early in the day, with devotees burning effigies of Kamanna in the wee hours amid the beating of drums.Soon after, children joined the celebrations, coming out on the streets and splashing colours on their friends and relatives.
