UDUPI: Yashpal Suvarna, MLA from Udipi, has requested Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah to declare January 22 as a public holiday to commemorate the historic consecration of the Ayodhya temple. In a letter to the CM, he said the dedication of the mandir is an immensely sacred day for all Indians, fulfilling a 500-year-old dream. Declaring a holiday would enable people to celebrate this emotional and historical moment from their homes, he said.
