Annual Christmas Parade brings holiday spirit to Wilkes-Barre | Times Leader

WILKES-BARRE — Holiday cheer quite literally made its way through the streets of Wilkes-Barre on Saturday for the city’s annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Folks lined South Main and South Streets to partake in the parade festivities, which featured plenty of floats, performances and even an appearance from Santa Claus. Following the hour-long parade, crowds quickly formed in front of Public Square’s 24-foot Christmas tree, donated by Building Blocks Learning Center, for the ceremonial tree lighting. Before the lights were turned on, Building Blocks Learning Center students serenaded the crowd with a selection of Christmas carols to further join in the holiday spirit.
