After-Christmas deals, gift returns attract crowds to Johnstown-area stores

Dec. 27 — JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Area shopping centers were swarmed on Tuesday, the day after Christmas Day. For some, “retail therapy” on the day after Christmas was a remedy for loved ones returning to far-flung places after holiday home visits, while others brought Christmas gifts that needed to be exchanged, but many simply wanted to capitalize on post-Christmas clearance sales. “I like to get really big discounts on Christmas things for next year,” said Connie Zeglinski, of Windber, who was among the many shoppers walking into the Boscov’s department store on Tuesday afternoon at The Johnstown Galleria in Richland Township.
