GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Political commentator and author Melissa Harris-Perry will deliver the keynote address Monday at a Grand Rapids event commemorating the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Harris-Perry is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, the federal holiday honoring the civil rights leader at an annual MLK Day event hosted by Grand Valley State University, Davenport University and Grand Rapids Community College. The event, now in its 38th year, is free and open to the public and will take place at the Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain St. in downtown Grand Rapids.
