Kanpur: The Lawyers Association on Friday met the district judge Kanpur Nagar and requested him to declare holiday for courts on January 22. In a memorandum addressed to the Chief Justice Allahabad high court, Ravindra Sharma, president of the Association, submitted that the state government had declared January 22 as a public holiday. Several social organizations, leaders and transporters have appealed not to travel on that day and their drivers too stated that they would not drive vehicles on January 22.The religious teachers too have asked the people to observe ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at their houses due to which there would be transport problems on that day.
