Holiday events hit high gear across the two Virginias

Nov. 22 — BLUEFIELD — A calendar filled with Christmas parades and events across the region is getting underway the evening of Thanksgiving with the opening of the annual Holiday of Lights in Bluefield City Park The Holiday of Lights, a series of Christmas displays featuring more than a million lights opens 6 p.m. Thanksgiving night at Bluefield City Park at 1780 Stadium Drive in Bluefield. This year the displays filling the park will be joined by the Mistletoe Market featuring huts with local vendors, a Ferris Wheel, a merry-go-round, fire pits and Shmores.
