
CHENNAI: Strong spells of rain took the city by surprise for about three hours from 6pm on Wednesday, triggering traffic snarls and road inundations. Between 6pm and 9pm, an average of 10cm rain was received across the city, with Meenambakkam clocking 20cm. The lowest was at Manali, which received about 7.8cm.
