Chennai: Emergency services at Puducherry’s Jipmer hospital won’t be affected during the half day holiday on Monday for Ayodhya temple consecration, Union government informed Madras high court on Sunday. “No emergency service will be stopped. Planned surgeries will be rescheduled,” additional solicitor general A R L Sundaresan submitted, following a PIL moved by a Puducherry resident challenging the holiday declaration. A hospital circular on Friday declared a half-day holiday (till 2.30 pm) on Monday. In a special sitting, the first bench wanted to know what would happen to everything scheduled for morning session.
