Chennai: After a relatively lukewarm response in the first week, the 47th edition of Chennai Book Fair is picking up. After just 8,000 footfalls on Monday, a public holiday, 20,000 visitors streamed into YMCA Grounds, Nandanam on Tuesday. Kavitha Chokkalingam, president of Bapasi, the organiser, said bigger crowds are expected from Wednesday when people who left for their hometowns for Pongal return. The fair winds up on January 21. Around four lakh people have so far visited the fair compared to 15 lakh in 17 days last year.
